Solar all installed and commissioned in 3 days! Nice tidy panels and racking from Zac and the team at Garden City Solar. Only one extra fuse panel in the garage as the Enphase micro inverters all hide on the roof. Excellent quality, highly recommend.

You will not find a better, more professional or friendlier solar panel installer in Christchurch. If you're wondering whether you should go with Zac at Garden City Solar then the answer is simple; Yes you should. I started my solar panel journey with a lot of background research and I had a fair idea of what I wanted. I received four quotes and Zac was not the cheapest but when I spoke to him in person I was immediately reassured by his knowledge of the industry, his quiet no-pressure, friendly approach and, when the rubber hits the road, the fact that he's up on the roof with his team getting stuck in. Unlike other companies, Zac is with you from the very start of the process to the very end - and beyond. No contracting out, he's up there making sure that everything is done properly and he puts his experience as a fully qualified electrician to good use in the house too. On my property the standard of the installation of the panels was exceptional, as was the installation of the requisite equipment and wiring in the house. I've had my panels up and running for a few weeks now and they, and the entire system, have performed faultlessly. I honestly cannot recommend Zac and Garden City Solar highly enough; exceptional service and workmanship is alive and well in Christchurch. Thank you Zac and Garden City Solar!

We used Zac and Garden city solar to install an ev charging port and soon got talking about solar. He quickly did up a quote and left it with us to consider with absolutely no pressure. Zac clearly knew his stuff and we couldn’t help be impressed with his passion and professionalism. We couldn’t be happier with the job these guys did. The panels are really discreet and the process could not have been easier. We were also very pleasantly surprised by the cost. We are all setup now and stoked with our decision to go solar, largely due to the experience we had with Garden City solar.

He took time to find out our needs from a proposed PV Solar installation and presented options available.
Zac's passion for solar and his ethos for wanting his installations to be of the highest standard of workmanship he can deliver really shone through during the consultation. The fact that he installs the systems he sells and see's this as the best way to ensure the quality of the installation was an aspect that resonated positively with me. After a couple of iterations of system layout, I was confident he would deliver the system to meet our requirements.

Recently reviewed 9 different solar companies in Christchurch and can confidently say that choosing Garden City Solar has been the best choice. Zac was the last company that I contacted but he was the first to give me an on-site inspection. There are several reasons why we chose Garden City Solar over 8 other solar companies.
Garden City Solar has by far the best customer service. I have over 60 emails with Zac providing me with different quotes for different sized systems along with recommendations for the best fit for our home. This was before I decided to go with Garden City Solar. In total, there are more than 120 emails. Compared to other companies, the maximum number of exchanges I have is about 9 emails. The advantage of Zac is that he responds very quickly to requests and you will deal directly with him. Compared to other solar companies, there are considerable delay to follow up on simple requests.
Garden City Solar is extremely flexible when it comes to panel choices, inverters and desired configurations. I realize many other companies will push a certain product or be limited in what they can offer, but Zac is more accommodating than all the others. I finally decided to build a ground mount as Zac has given me the flexibility to build the mount and dig trenches myself, which reduced labor costs making it more affordable for us.
Zac is also qualified to do all the work himself as he is also an electrical inspector. He gave us loads of advice on how to build a ground mount that can pass the final inspection and can be assured that high quality electrical work will be done. He also recommended us to upgrade the switchboard as our house is over 20+ years old and offered a great price.
Once the deposit was made, work began within a week and was completed early as there were no other contractors to deal with. Zac usually arrives early and often finishes late to get the job done as quickly as possible. Zac is very professional and very neat in his work. I even told him aesthetics didn't matter to me, but he took the time to make sure everything looked aesthetically pleasing and cleaned up afterwards.
